PUREEF-Y

Past, present, and future status and mitigation for Cyprus shallow-water reef biodiversity and functioning under global change

PUREEF-Y overview

The PUREEF-Y project focuses on enhancing the capacity of the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI) in environmental research and policymaking by deploying capacity-building activities with experts from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and Israel Oceanographic & Limnological Research (IOLR). Via this collaboration, researchers will assess the impact of marine heatwaves and pollutants on regional biota in the Eastern Mediterranean, and accordingly, propose management plans for monitoring, conservation & restoration, and policy adjustments.
